MPM, an umbrella body of 76 Malay NGO, which led by Perkasa, presented their points, that basically asked for the preservation of affirmative policies, which many also called a discriminative policies.
The real point is, do the majority of Malays rejects the NEM?
Going by this MPM, it seems to be so.
Why indeed?
Because NEM perceived to remove Malays' special rights that now being argued to be their birth rights.
Did they even see the blue print of NEM before rejecting it?
Of course not, even Najib haven't done it yet.
This whole episode painted the Malays as a lot that will never give up their special rights, never mind how many times they renovated their houses and change their furnitures. As long as they think the Chinese has more money in the bank (never mind that it is because they never renovate their house since they bought it), even if that is not true, they will keep on pressing for affirmative policies.
I think even if they had more money than the rest of the races in Malaysia, they will still press for it, perhaps only one day when there is no other races left in Malaysia, this rights will only go, dying a natural death.
Maybe this is only Perkasa and their cronies' way of thinking.
Maybe majority of the Malays do not think like that.
Maybe there is no shame is thumping chest for sedekah, just like those gangsters asking for protection money.
Maybe it's better this way, who knows?
