Penetration Dominates Anwar's Striking out Appeal

Anwar's application to strike out his sodomy trial reached the Court of Appeal, with penetration being the main theme.

Karpal Singh, fresh from calling a High Court judge a liar, argued that since there are two medical reports stating there is no conclusive proof of penetration, the court should strike out the case instead of hearing it further as penetration is a fundamental element in sodomy cases.

But the prosecution argued that they can still show proof of semen in Saiful's anus, which will confirm the act. Solicitor General II Yusof Zainal Abiden argued that the two medical report is not conclusive and the author must be called to give evidence.

The Court of Appeal will only give its judgment on February 17, a day before High Court is to continue hearing the case.
